Spring Style : Shoes

Ok, ok, I know, it's only like December, and some of us have barely even chosen what to wear for all those Christmas and New Year parties, but you know, the fashion seasons come quicker than the weather, and a girl can't help but start daydreaming about spring and all the beautiful fashions that come along with it! So here's just a peek at what you'll be wearing starting March!

First up, gold strappy Jimmy Choo sandals, these will look fab with a lot of spring styles, and will add a bit of glitz to that little black dress!

Next, for a more casual style, Miu Miu have designed these gorgeous open toe clogs, complete with cute leather bow! These will go well with the frilly and flirtful styles for Spring 06!

Celebrity Copycats

*Ahhh* the satisfaction a girl gets when she goes shopping and finds probably what seems like the best pair of black boots ever, just to find a while after when flicking through a magazine the very same pair on one of her favourite hollywood celebs! Has it happened to you before?

Well probably, but maybe not, depending on your style of clothes and where you buy them (and budget too!), but I've got to admit, I'm not too keen on it happening the other way round. Sure, part of the reason I recently bought a pair of drainpipe jeans is because I saw them on the likes of Sienna Miller, Kate Moss and other celebrity fashion icons, but that doesn't dismiss the fact that I actually like them! Which might not be the case for some other people.

There's nothing wrong with wanting to dress like your favourite celebrities, but sometimes the price is way too high (and I don't mean money-wise!) The things that girls do to look like their icons is incredible and sometimes worrying. The few of us who happen to be trend-setters are starting to fade away, and using famous people to do our job for us, leaving the rest of us following like a herd of sheep with no unique features displayed to the outside world.

Of course there are other ways to express our individualities, but I think fashion is a really important one, and the one we use most, so don't use it as a way of saying "I fit in" instead, use it to say "I am me!!!!!!!" ;)

Totally Unexpected

Hi and welcome to my new blog 'Candy for the Chic'. I hadn't at all planned to start this up, but I had a look at some other blogs and it looked fun, so I thought why not give it a try? Basically this blog is gonna be about fashion, and that includes all the basic clothes, shoes and bags, but I'm also gonna talk about make-up, skin products and other things I think you'd enjoy reading and finding out about!
